Katie O’Bright, PT, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Katie O’Bright is a board certified orthopedic Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Dr. O’Bright is a veteran of the United States Army, where she served as a Captain and physical therapist for 4 years. While on active duty, Dr. O’Bright served in a primary care role to soldiers with musculoskeletal complaints; she was also active in the development and implementation of the reconditioning physical readiness training program at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Dr. O’Bright became interested in oncology after working with a young service member who was diagnosed with cancer. After completing her active duty service obligation, she took this interest to the University of Oklahoma’s Stephenson Cancer Center, where she enhanced her clinical practice skills in the oncology population. She was an active provider in the cancer “prehab” programs, which educated individuals in the importance of exercise throughout cancer treatment.
Dr. O’Bright has special interests in lumbopelvic and hip disorders, strength and conditioning, and human performance optimization. She is passionate about teaching students and serves as a human anatomy lab instructor for the University of Pittsburgh’s DPT program. She is also an injury prevention specialist/instructor for O2X, a company which specializes in human performance optimization for tactical athletes and first responders.
In her spare time, Dr. O’Bright enjoys exercising and spending time outdoors with her husband, 2 sons, and chocolate lab. She dabbles in painting, practices hot yoga when possible, enjoys live Jazz music, and participates in an all-girls fantasy football league. Proud fan of the Buffalo Bills and Oklahoma Sooners.
